GOD'S LATEST BLESSING...

I have an announcement!!! No I'm not pregnant, and no I'm not getting married (but if someone may be interested....). NO,BUT I AM GOING INTO BUSINESS!! As of May
20th I can be found basically in front of my building---1965 Broadway, between 66th and 67th on the west side of Broadway, SELLING MY ART!! I have been given a license to do so by the state of New York and I will be selling framed prints of all the originals I have hanging on my walls in my apartment as well as mouse pads, coasters and calendars of my art. Along with this I have painted a number of tee shirts, blouses, pocketbooks, hats and some lovely aprons. I'm sure there is something for everyone! And I am inviting anyone who is reading this to come visit me there...even if you live in Florida, California or wherever...make the trip. It will be fun just to see you!

Now for the reason this fits into my "sessions". I have enjoyed an extremely full life. Indeed I wrote a memoir called 'DOIN WHAT CAME NATUR'LLY, THE MERRY,MADCAP AND MOXIE MEMOIRS OF MIMI SCOTT. Several of you have read it. I was and always have been blessed with a great family and with the world of theatre, film and tv. Then I turned 70...things quieted down. I moved back to New York from Florida...but...I had one physical problem after another. A knee that I had enjoyed having all those years decided it was not happy and wanted to be replaced. So now I have a new knee. But prior to this replacement I wasn't moving as I had all those years and my energy was simply not the same...actually it began while I was in
Florida. I became depressed. Someone suggested I go to do pottery with her. I realized that minute that I had always wanted to paint. The next day I had the easel, the paints, the canvasses and the brushes. I have been doing it ever since. It has brought me hours of peace and happiness. Now, while New York remains as busy as this city will always be, I will once again be participating---I will be a street vendor. Whether it sells out in a day, or I sit there for two months without anyone buying anything...I will be once again among the participants of the greatest city in the world----New York!

My point is---never give up. The lights in everyone's life go out from time to time, and sometimes it's necessary to just sit back and do nothing. That's ok. Because out of that 'nothing' always comes 'something'. I may not be on the stage for awhile (most likely forever), but I'm writing and I'm painting (and I do have a little show I wrote for those in assisted living facilities to enjoy that I am hoping to start taking around), so I'm doing all right! And so will all of you when the 'light goes on again' if you've been spending some time in the dark. God does indeed work in 'strange ways'

Now...if Mr.Right were to come along...

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed my session, and please do come see me at
MIMI'S ARTISTIC MAGIC on Broadway when you get to the City.
